Captain Dave offers private inshore charters ranging from 4-8 hours aboard the "Compass Rose". These trips are all based on ocean fishing out to the local reefs and ocean lumps for sea bass, fluke, bluefish, black fish, striped bass, and croakers. The trips are based on a maximum of five passengers. Add $50 for the sixth passenger. There will be NO fuel surcharge added to the price of the trip. As part of the private charter service, Captain Dave will clean and package your catch to take home. 2010 Prices "Half day" - 4 hour charter-- $425 "Tide Trip"- 6 hour charter-- $575 "Full Day Fishing Safari"- 8 hour charter-- $725 From past experiences, the best choice is the "Tide Trip". This provides the angler the best opportunity to fish the entire tide and allows for ample time to fish different locations. All tackle, bait, and ice are included in the price of the trip. I recommend the client bring what they want to eat and drink, sunglasses, a hat, and a windproof/waterproof jacket for adequate comfort. Coolers for your catch, food and drinks are provided on board so please do not bring your own. OPEN BOAT SPECIAL! Like to fish but your friends or family don't and you do not want to charter the whole boat by yourself. Beginning this July through the end of fluke season, I will be running open-boat trips on Saturdays out to the ocean reefs. There has been enough interest to start open boat trips. These trips will give singles and small groups the opportunity to go fishing on a private charter at a fraction of the cost. The trip will last 6 hours (7am-1pm) and will be $125/angler. I will need a minimum o three anglers to run the trip. All bait and tackle will be provided. All the fish will be individually tagged and placed in a community ice chest until we return so please do not bring your own cooler. I will also supply a cooler with ice for your food and drinks. Fish cleaning is an additional cost for open boat trips and is available upon request when we return to the dock.
A deposit of $100.00 is required for all clients booking fishing
trips. This will be taken in the form of a personal check or cash and will be subtracted from the fee at the time of
the charter. Cancellations made more than 7 days in advance will be refunded all of the deposit with no penalty. If
a cancellation is made within 7 days of the charter, then the deposit will be retained for the trip that was scheduled. Cancellations
due to weather are at the sole discretion of Captain Dave. Weather patterns are always changing "down the shore"
and early morning fog and rain often turns into sunny afternoons. If the trip is cancelled due to weather, the captain
will work with the client to reschedule another date. If the client cannot reschedule for any reason, then the deposit
will be returned in full. Lenth of trip is determined from the time the boat leaves the dock to the time it returns
to the dock.
