Offshore Tuna Day Trip $4,000.00 16-18 hrs - up to 6 passengers. This is our most popular trip and provides the crew a full offshore experience. We time our depature depending on the time of year so we have lines in at sunrise. Generally, we leave 12:00am and return late afternoon the same day. Booking this trip requires a two-day window commitment. We will fish the best day out of two at the captain’s discretion. Fishing grounds are Hudson Canyon to the Wilmington Canyon and ever lump and ledge in-between. We’ll hunt for big-eye tuna, yellowfin tuna, longfin tuna, & bluefin tuna. Also, expect to catch white marlin, blue marlin, wahoo, and dolphin. Troll with ballyhoo and/or chunk with butterfish, all bait is included in this trip. Read more about this type of fishing here
Big Eye Special Canyon Overnighter $5,000.00 24-26 hours - up to 6 passengers. Leave at 12:00 Noon and return the following day early afternoon. Booking this trip requires a three-day window commitment. We will fish the best two out of three days at the captain’s discretion. We’ll troll the canyon walls during sunset and sunrise when the bigeye is out hunting. Most bigeye are caught just before dark or at first light. when squid and other bait begin moving closer to the surface at those times. Bigeye tuna are one of the most sought-after gamefish in the Northeast Canyons, and we’ll position ourselves directly over the feeding grounds at the optimal time. They often show up in “wolf packs,” wreaking havoc in the spread. The bite is unmistakable and unforgettable as the water erupts with bomb-like explosions. Depending on the time of year, at night we will chunk and/or set out shark and swordfish lines. On this trip, expect to catch bigeye tuna, yellowfin tuna, bluefin tuna, and longfin tuna. Offshore Safari Overnighter $6,000.00 36-38 hours - up to 6 passengers. This is the ultimate big game fishing trip and provides the charter two full days of offshore fishing plus a canyon overnighter. Flexible leave time but generally depart early morning on Day 1 and return late afternoon on Day 2. Booking this trip requires a three-day window commitment. We will fish the best two out of three days at the captain’s discretion. We will target all pelagic offshore species. This trip gives us abundant time to fish for yellowfin tuna, big eye tuna, bluefin tuna, longfin tuna, blue marlin, white marlin, wahoo, and dolphinfish using many different techniques. Depending on the time of the year, we may also deep drop during the day for swordfish and tile fish using the LP electric reel. Striped Bass $1,250.00 7:00AM - 3:00PM - up to 6 passengers. Striped bass charters are offered from November to early December. We target trophy striped bass in the ocean out to three miles from LBI to the Raritan Bay. We generally troll using bunker spoons, umbrellas rigs, and mojos to get deep in the water column where these big stripers feed. Enjoy fishing for one New Jersey’s most prized gamefish in a comfortable heated cabin. If you prefer top water plugging or jigging, bring you favorite rod and reel set up. TIPPING THE MATE IS MANDATORY Average Tip for the Mate is 20% - 25% of the Charter Fee. The mate spends hours working on the boat prior to your trip and after your trip to assure that you have a rewarding experience. Sometimes the fish do not cooperate. Do not base your tip on the size of your catch.
THERE IS NO ADDED FUEL SURCHARGE Benita J is a highly fuel efficient vessel designed for long range commercial fishing. This efficiency allows us the ability to offer set rates so you can budget for your trip accordingly.
PAYMENTS 50% deposit is required to secure the charter date. Accepted forms of payment are cash, credit card, check, or Venmo. Balance is due before the boat leaves the dock.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Trips may be cancelled for any reason with a minimum notice of 30 days prior to the charter date with a full refund of the deposit. Failing to provide 30 days notice for trip cancellation will result in forfeiture of deposit. Cancellation of the charter due to inclement weather is at the SOLE discretion of the Captain.
Charters may be cancelled by the Captain at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather, mechanical failure/malfunction, illness, or other factors interfering with normal safe operations of the vessel. If the captain cancels the trip, every effort will be made to reschedule your trip. If the trip cannot be rescheduled to your liking, the deposit will be refunded.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Book Early for Choice Dates - All tackle, bait, and ice is included in the cost of the trip.
Alcoholic Beverages: Beer Only. No glass bottles, no hard liquor, and no wine. If a party member becomes intoxicated as determined by the Captain, the boat will return to the dock without any refund.
Food: Each person will provide his or her own food and beverage. We suggest that you bring prepared food. Have your sandwiches made before leaving the dock.
There is a coffee maker on board for your use.
Boating shoes or sneakers ONLY. Please no black-soled shoes.
No firearms of any kind on board.
No illegal drugs of any kind on board (OFFENSES WILL BE REPORTED TO THE COAST GUARD).
All billfish and sharks will be released unless tournament fishing.
Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Don’t forget sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat.
